Urea is stable but ammonium sulfate is weak

The price of urea rose generally this week, and the price of Ammonium nitrate also rose, but ammonium sulfate and urea nitrate solution remained weak.

This week, traders purchased urea supplies globally, pushing up the trading prices of large particles in most regions - Baltic FOB260-280 US dollars/ton, Egypt FOB312-335 US dollars/ton, Middle East FOB253-280 US dollars/ton, and China FOB308-310 US dollars/ton.

But the import market is not so active, with prices rising and falling. The price of small and medium-sized urea particles in Southeast Asia has dropped to $300-315 per ton in CFR300, while the price in Brazil is higher than $290 per ton in CFR290, causing transactions to stagnate.

Due to sufficient supply from factories in northwestern Europe and China, the ammonium sulfate market is still facing pressure, and although urea provides strong support, price levels have decreased in all regions.

market factors

Energy concerns: Due to concerns about the impact of rising energy prices in the autumn of the Northern Hemisphere, buyers in some countries are seeking supply from August to September.

Seasonal demand: The widespread strategy of delaying procurement until the last minute continues to drive trade activities, especially this week's prices in North Africa and China.

30-60 day uncertainty

The demand for agriculture will reach its lowest point in the coming weeks, and several factories will resume production from planned and unplanned shutdowns. However, the continuous replenishment of short positions and the risk of rising energy prices may reverse this trend.
