International Ammonium Sulfate Market

Black Sea/Baltic Sea:

Whether it is the Black Sea or the Baltic Sea, the tonnage available for export is limited, and the tonnage for December and January has not yet been discussed.

Turkey:

Turkish chemical producer Eti Bakir restarted production of standard ammonium sulfate at its 600,000-ton/year synthetic ammonium sulfate plant in Samsun, Turkey, which has been idle since the beginning of September. The plant is one of two domestic ammonium sulfate plants, and the other is a 180,000-ton/year synthetic ammonium sulfate plant in Bandirma, operated by manufacturer Bagfas, and has been offline since the end of 2020. As of December 9, the standard ammonium sulfate factory price provided by Eti Bakir was approximately US$600/ton, which is equivalent to 8,250 lire/ton.

China:

Due to weak buying sentiment, the offer for delivery in January was lower, and the price of standard ammonium sulfate fell to US$370-380 per ton. As Incofe withdrew its bid and weakened buying activity in Brazil, demand in Latin America was weak, compressed and granular ammonium sulfate prices fell to US$440-450/ton fob China.

Philippine:

This week, Atlas issued a tender to purchase 8,000-12,000 tons of ammonium sulfate and ship it to Sangi Port by January 22. The bidding will end on December 13. Atlas won the bid for 8,000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate at a price of US$420-430/ton of cfr last week.

America:

AdvanSix increased its offer for ammonium sulfate pellets in the first quarter. The company’s FOB price at the Hopewell, Virginia plant rose to US$520/ton, a 55% increase from its offer in late September last year.

Central America:

Incofe postponed the bidding of 37,000-46,000 tons, and the importer is expected to re-bid in January and ship in February.
