Phosphate markets in eastern and western Suez are developing well, but due to insufficient supply, most markets are less active.
The current source flow of several manufacturers has been confirmed and will be shipped to the United States in the first quarter. India and Pakistan have no new orders to follow up, and Pakistan’s procurement tenders still have no quotations. Two quotations were received in the bidding for the procurement of DAP in Nepal, but no bid was won.
The price of MAP in Brazil stabilized, and the latest sales price of OCP MAP rose to US$405-410/ton CFR. Barge prices in the United States remain stable. As of December 22, the price of MAP was US$420-435/short ton FOB Nola, and the price of DAP was US$395/short ton FOB.
Insufficient supply will drive up phosphate prices in early 2021. OCP will further reduce the spot supply in the market due to Ethiopia’s existing orders and production cuts.
