Black Sea / Baltic Sea

 SBU Azot continues to ship the 3,000-5,000 tons of ammonium sulphate at the end of February at the target price of $150/tonne but is priced at $145/ton FOB or lower.

 Northwestern Europe

 The European standard is 120-125 Euro/ton FOB, and the ex-factory price is 125 Euro/ton (FCA), while the net price in Brazil is still around 120 Euro/ton. There is no new Chinese ammonium sulphate cargo report in spring. The last batch of 3mm granular ammonium sulphate is priced at €197-198/t FCA Rotterdam/Gent.

 Turkey

 This week, some enquiries appear. However, it is not clear how much is actually booked. Market sources said that about 100,000 tons of ammonium sulphate will be needed by the end of February, but given the difficult economic environment faced by farmers, it remains to be seen whether Turkey will buy this amount. Toros purchased 8,000 tons of pellets, 16,000 tons of caprolactam ammonium sulfate, and another 12,000 tons of low-grade caprolactam ammonium sulfate through a trader from China. It is reported that the standard grade is $150/ton excluding tax, and the low grade price is 146-149 US dollars / ton CFR, granules 185 US dollars / ton CFR.

 China

 The price of ammonium sulphate continues to fall as demand from Southeast Asia and Brazil slowly exits the market in the coming months. The price of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate is 114-115 US dollars / ton FOB, and the next batch of goods is priced at 112 US dollars / ton FOB. If demand is still slow, prices may fall to around $110/ton or even lower. Before the Lunar New Year holiday from February 4th to 10th, the area is unlikely to resume purchases. Extrusion pellet manufacturers are expected to start thinking about new steel grade and caprolactam grade ammonium sulfate in the second week of February. This week's steel grade price is 560-580 yuan / ton ( 81-85 US dollars / ton). Malaysia's MMA grade ammonium sulfate price has fallen below $120/tonne CFR.

 Sri Lanka

 The Sri Lankan Ministry of Agriculture tendered on January 22 to purchase 2,000 tons of ammonium sulphate, urea, heavy calcium and potassium chloride, which will be shipped to Colombo in April. All suppliers offer full tonnage and Chinese origin. The offer is as follows, the price is the cost per ton plus freight, including a 180-day credit period. The minimum net bid is about $120 per ton, FOB China, container shipping.  Vietnam

 Vietnam imported 126,363 tons in December 2018, an increase of 11% from 151,344 tons in the same period in 2017. Imports fell by 6% to 1.05 million tons in 2018, from 1.12 million tons in 2017 .

 United States

 Fibrant is planning to supply 2mm and 2.5mm granular cargo to the US for loading at the end of February and loading another load for Nola in mid-March.

 Brazil

 With the end of safininha's buying and the lack of interest in discussing new products before March/April, the market price of any unsold goods, especially in the larger ports where supply is good, is falling. Unsold Chinese compacted goods at a CFR price of $180 per ton, and better quality compacted goods at a price of $190 per ton and above. Depending on the port, European bulk CFR is priced at $200-205/ton. Hinase last week loaded 30,000 to 35,000 tons of Lanxess ammonium sulfate to leave the northwestern part of Europe and shipped to the Brazilian market. According to the shipping show, there will be 10 240,000 tons cargo ships of ammonium sulphate arriving at the Brazilian port before February 20. With the exception of two shipments from Belgium, all ammonium sulphate comes from China.
