The price of ammonium sulfate rose to $230-250/ton fob China, based on new sales in Southeast Asia as the framework. A Chinese manufacturer sold 6,000 tons of internal grade standard ammonium sulfate to Vietnam and the Philippines at an FOB price of US$250/ton, which was shipped in November. The company raised its November offer for new tonnage to a Chinese FOB price of US$280 per ton.

There was a report on Monday that the ammonium sulfate exported to Southeast Asia in November was sold at a price of US$230/ton fob China, but it has not been confirmed. Prior to this, the new quotation has risen from the FOB price of US$225-250/ton from Friday to Monday to US$240-260/ton in the middle of the week. A Fujian manufacturer sold multiple batches of standard ammonium sulfate at a container price of US$245/ton, which was shipped to Southeast Asia from October to November.

According to reports, container freight rates have fallen in the past two weeks. The latest offer for a 20-foot container from China to Southeast Asia is US$300, which is equivalent to about US$12 per ton. The price of pellets is fixed at US$320-345/ton FOB due to the high price in Brazil, the short validity period of the new quotation, and tight supply.

Last Friday, a trader sold a batch of Chinese granular ammonium sulfate shipped from October to November at a price of US$420 per ton (cfr Brazil). The FOB price of this batch was US$345 per ton (fob China). However, the new customs regulations mean that the feasibility of mixed goods will be reduced, so it may restrict China's sales of amsul to smaller markets where mixed fertilizer goods are usually purchased, such as certain countries in South America, Europe and Africa.
